Kris Allen and Adam Lambert will be on the finals. Danny Gokey was eliminated today. And That is the results of American Idol today May 13, 2009.

A lot of Danny Gokey fans were dissapointed but nevertheless, I know we will be seeing more of him in the next couple of months (and years). A talent like that should not be wasted. I’m pretty sure he will become a successfull singer/artist and will record a couple of songs soon.

Kris Allen’s second song really did made a difference.

In today’s top 3 performances of American Idol season 8, each contestant will be rendering 2 songs. Kris Allen performed “Apologize” by One Republic and “Heartless” popularized by Kanye West.

Here’s what the judges said:

Randy said they he can see what records you can make. Kara commented to take more chances. Paula said she was so proud of Kris and Simon said it was competent.

Kara Dioguardi- performance was perfect..the tone, the pitch….

Adam Lambert Performed – One and Cryin – American Idol Seson 8 top 3

Adam lambert sang “One” originally done by U2, and his second song was Cryin by Aerosmith. Each contestant sang 2 songs tonight.

Here’s what the Judges have to say about Adam’s performance.

Simon - a brilliant song choice…it was a brilliant performance
Paula - one brilliant song, one superb performance
Randy – definitely still on the zone…unbelievable vocals….ou are really really talented guy

Kara - a strategist…you can change the melodies and make it unbelievable

American Idol season 8 Top 3.  Each contestant will render 2 songs each.   Danny Gokey chose to sing “Dance Little Sister” by Terence Trent D’Arby, and  “You are So Beautiful“.

The song Dance Little Sister was Paula’s song choice.  Danny did a little dancing while performing and Kara did not like it.   (Editor’s comment:  I don’t think the Dancing part is Danny’s forte.  I mean Simon made a “clumsy” comment on Danny several times).   Paula however said the dancing was ok. Randy said ‘Let the games begin!

Randy – you showed you can really really sing…mad vocals
Paula – you left all of us breathless…you nailed it.
Simon – i love the song…i wouldn’t have done the arrangement that way but
i love the vocals.

Lots of good praises from the judges, and good performances from the contestants.  Last nights’s theme was “Rat Pack” and Jamie Foxx was there to guide them throughout the week.

I really like how Danny Gokey improved.  If you can recall, Simon’s comment about  his performance was a bit “clumsy” but then yesterday, it was a different Danny.  He became a performer, not just a singer.  And that I guess is what Simon is looking for.

I think Adam, Danny, and Allison is safe.  These 3 have the “Artist” quality that the judges are looking for.  They know who they are as an artist and they know what kind of songs they are good at.

I guess it would either be Kris or Matt.

Today’s theme is “Rat Pack”. One of the crowd favorite, Adam Lambert performed a song entitled “Feeling Good”. Here’s what the judges said.

Simon said: “Best Entrance we’ve had all year”.

Randy commented: Too Broadway/Theatrical

Kara Dioguardi: Shocking in a good, confusing and shocking and sleazy and superb and way over the top.

Paula Abdul: Like watching the Olympics. Paula compared Adam to Michael Phelps.

I really like this song! This was originally done by Earth Wind and Fire. One of my favorite Disco songs and I was sure one of the contestants will sing it. At first I was imagining Adam Lambert doing this song because he can hit those high pitched notes but eventually, it was Danny who sang it.

What a great performance by Allison Iraheta. I think she did great today. With a recommendation from Miley Cyrus, Allison might be one of the top performers this week.

Who do you think will be voted off?  In this week’s Disco Night,  two of the contestant will be eliminated.  Last week, Matt was saved by the judges and therefore  this week,  two will be voted off to compensate for last week’s save.

Matt Giraud was voted off last week but the two lady judges has been fighting to keep him in the contest.

Matt Giraud was SAVED by the Judges.   Incredibly lucky guy indeed.  With a not so good performance, I guess his “redeem” song was able to make the judges think twice.

Well, at some point the judges will need to use their SAVE priviledges.   I guess if it was Lil, a lot of people think that the judged will not save her.
