Rahm Emanuel Retard Word Controversy

Rahm Emanuel, the Chief of Staff of President Barrack Obama, was asked by the White House to publicly apologize by using the word “retard” in one of the strategy session last August 2009. Sarah Palin demanded that Rahm must be out from the White House office because of using the word “retard.”

Being a mother who has a daughter that suffers from Down syndrome, is the main reason why she was greatly affected by the issue. Rahm does not only hurt her but also those who are suffering with similar condition as her daughter have.

As the White House action to this issue, Rahm was forced to publicly apologize and personally give his apology to Tom Shriver, who is known as the CEO of the Special Olympics. This action by the White House has proven that they are serious with this issue and that Rahm must learn to treat all the individuals equally.
