Pants on the Ground Record Deal Possible

Larry-Platt-PantsThe first viral hit of 2010 came from “General” Larry Platt with his original song “Pants of the Ground”. The energetic 62-year-old senior citizen from Atlanta, Georgia, appeared during the Atlanta auditions of the American Idol where he sang his hit single about baggy pants.

General Larry Platt performed it with a mix of singing and rapping and delivered it with much infectious enthusiasm, done with a little break dancing.

His performance caught so much attention that even judge Randy Jackson sang and danced with him at the end of his audition. Simon Cowell had prophesied that he had “a horrible feeling that the song could be a hit”. However, Platt did not receive a golden ticket because the show has an age limit of 28 years old.

Even though Platt’s song has not been signed for a record deal yet, the single “Pants on the Ground” is being remixed on popular broadcasting websites such as YouTube already. In Youtube alone, one of his video clips received over 6 Million views.

Larry is an important leader during the civil rights battle in 1960’s.  He is not from the army. The reason why he is called “General” is because of his strict dedication to his job in Atlanta homeless shelter.

The State of Georgia also honored Platt and designated September 4, 2001 as Larry Platt Day for his contributions in the community and citizens of Georgia.
