Survivor Palau Star Jennifer Lyon Died

Jennifer Lyon, “Survivor: Palau” alumni, has died of breast cancer at the young age of 37.

Lyon was diagnosed of breast cancer in 2005 shortly after her appearance in the CBS reality show where she placed 4th. She felt something unusual at her right breast but she only ignored it for a long time. She assumed it was just a scar tissue connected to her breast implants. She soon discovered that her cancer is already on stage-three when it got detect.ed

Lyon underwent a two mastectomies and chemotherapy.  She strongly supported the fight against cancer by becoming an advocate for breast cancer awareness. SHe hosted many fundraising events for breast cancer foundations. Her website is filled with projects promoting her cause.

Austin Carty from “Survivor: Panama” dated Lyon briefly. He said in an interview that he was it was really sad. “She was engaged in the greatest fight of her life, but she had every intention to fight and spread her positive messages,” added Carty.

Near the end of show, “Survivor” Jeff Probst spoke with Lyon about death and “the idea that death is such a hard subject and so many of us don’t know what is appropriate to say, so we end up saying the wrong thing for all the right reasons.”

The experience that Lyon learned from “Survivor” had given her strength to fight her battle against the disease.
