Like you, millions of Americans watch American Idol auditions for some reasons of their own. It’s a good source of comic relief for example. It’s not that it is good to laugh at others who had the guts to show America what they can do even if they fall way short of what’s expected. It is also a good time to pick your early favorite to win it all this season.
The second reason rings so true for one Vanessa Wolfe who said she’s stuck in Vonore, TN. Simon nailed it saying that Vanessa came to the auditions totally unprepared. But that did not stop the singer from the heart of Tennessee to win the hearts of many viewers across the country, and the vote of the people in front of her including guest Mary J. Blige.
The girl stuck in Vonore who is obviously a free spirit said that she got her dress from the Dollar Store. She said that “What’s life without a risk or two?” and she proved that she believe in that creed by going out there in her $4.50 dress and belting a song called “Wagon Wheel”. What impressed Simon and other judges is that she is authentic and she backs it up with a voice fit for country music in its purest form.
She also made people laugh especially when she told Simon that she was totally pleased how they received her performance that she would have pulled a back-flip right then and there if she’s not wearing that Dollar Store dress. Even after her performance, she remained true to herself saying: “I’m going to Hollywood and I’m going to get on an air-o-plane and I’m going to eat peanuts on the air-o-plane.”
It is safe to say that Vanessa has already created a fan base from that single audition and she won’t be stuck in Vonore TN now. In other Idol news, auditions also gave us guys like Andrew American Idol wannabe who was visibly upset that he has to wait for a long time to perform. Well, he didn’t get the thumbs up. People like that, should they qualify for Idol would make viewers switch to 411 The Show Atlanta in a heartbeat.
